Mariano previously co-founded Mural, the visual collaboration platform used by IBM, Microsoft, Google, NASA, and most of the Fortune 100. Mural became a way for millions of remote teams to think and work together, anywhere, anytime.

Planta came from a frustration he kept feeling after Mural. Across the communities and events he was part of, the same patterns repeated: he’d end up talking to the people he already knew, miss the updates from those who mattered, and lose the thread once the doors closed. The connections that did work were the ones he stayed on top of by hand, one at a time.

Mural made a new way of collaborating possible, from anywhere, at any time. So the question became: how do we design the time of an event so the right people find each other, for the right reason, and those relationships compound over time?

Starting with events, we’re co-designing Planta with a small group of Founding Hosts whose gatherings are all about giving each guest the conversations they came for.
